Val Gardena or Gröden - in German, is a valley situated in Trentino-Alto Adige, Sudtirol, in the Dolomites Mountains and is crossed by Gardena, a 25 km long river.
The valley is a very famous place for ski and winter sports tourism activities, as well as for hosting many International Alpine Skiing events (FIS Alpine World Ski Championships).
The area is famous for its woodcarving traditions and wood sculptures.
The valley is comprised of three villages (winter mountain resorts): Ortisei (Sf.Ulrich), Santa Cristina and Selva (Wolkenstein).
